DIY Industrial Lamp Project

This weekend Kent and I went to a fantastic country auction. Fields covered with wagons full of treasures-we were loving it! Coming home with a great old surveyors tripod and an old drum hoop we started to get inspired! After a little brainstorming we came up with a plan for an industrial style lamp.
Some fabricating of cherry crosspieces, a section from an old porch post and a lot of elbow grease later. Well, you can pop over to the blog and see how it all came together!
I hope you like it as much as we do!

We bought this old surveyors tripod at an auction this weekend.
We also bought a water stained drum hoop.
A salvaged porch post section makes for an interesting addition to the project.
brainstorming for the lamp project begins!
Kent made cherry crosspieces for supporting the drum hoop.
Some Danish Oil brings it back to life!
Starting to put it together.
