Help making chalk paint

Question

I ordered calcium carbonate powder to make chalk paint.  However, when I ordered I didn't realized that it was pellets.  I've already opened one of the bags and it's been a while now since I've had it.  It doesn't come out smooth and goes one so grainy and messy.  How can I fix this without being so wasteful with the remaining bags?  I hate to trash them, they didn't cost a lot, but hate to be wasteful.

I've been making chalk paint with calcium carbonate for a while now, I get it online too and I didn't even realise it can come in pellets. Thanks for the warning! Can you grind them up at all? Or how about adding some hot water to melt them a bit? I hate waste too so good luck :-)

I'll try the water see what happens.  I did try grinding - not sure if I mix it enough but it came out very grainy and not smooth.

Not sure how large the pellets are but a coffee grinder or nut grinder (if they are small) or a food processer (if they are large) should be able to grind them into powder. I make my own chalk paint as well but I've never had to deal with pellets so good luck!!!
