Update: Gutter Garden

I would say we had a lot of success with our gutter garden this year. But there were some things we learned along the way too.
Gutter gardens love strawberries. Because they are a shallow root plant, they can thrive in a gutter. Not all of them made it though, but I blame that on my inexperience in transplanting from another garden.
The flowers did pretty well, but I think they didn't bloom as long because they were in the gutter. So I just replaced them with some fall flowers.
If you love cooking with fresh herbs, make a gutter garden. They do super well with this planting system.
