Carole on Aug 20, 2014Pretty snake, although I have no idea what type it is. If you are not sure if it is safe to handle, I would be calling in wildlife services to have it safely removed. Good luck. Whatever you do, please don't kill it though.Helpful Reply

Sherrie on Aug 20, 2014I live in Missouri, if its poisonous, copperhead, rattler, water moccasin, their heads are shaped like a triangle, poison pockets in the sides of their jaws, non poisonous heads are shapped like this you in your pics BUT don't depend on what I think , I just know to watch out for our 3 in Missouri....I can't stand any of them! Robin Miller Cresci on Aug 20, 2014Make sure you disinfect your countertop. Snakes carry parasites that are not human friendly, like Toxoplasmosis. It does not look like it has a triangular head, but best to be safe. Do a google search for snakes/florida then look at the images and see if anything matches.Helpful Reply

Claudia Collette Scarbrough on Apr 10, 2016The black racer is not poisonous. It is valuable to the environment. They are shy and will run if they are not cornered. Let them go.Helpful Reply

Rebecca on Aug 20, 2016Looks non-poisonous...round pupils=non-venomous; elliptical pupils(like a cat)=venomous, but only in North America. Native snakes that is, except the coral snake.Helpful Reply
