Coffee Table Redo

I took an old coffee table and sanded down the top. I applied the stain by rubbing it on with an old baby burp cloth to help me achieve a "worn look" Then I painted the bottom with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (so no sanding on those hard to reach places!

What stain did you use for the top? It looks great.

I believe it was Minwax Dark Walnut (I already used all that so I don't have the can anymore. But I'm almost positive that was it! How I got that distressed look in the stain was I didn't sand it properly.. finally a mistake that turned out good! lol. I didn't completely remove all the varnish in some areas so the stain didn't take as well there and it left me a distressed look. I want to do that again on my kitchen table. Hopefully it works out for me : )

Haha - Minwax Dark Walnut brings back nightmares to me! I spilled almost a whole can of it when climbing up on the ladder to finish staining my second floor bannister! Let me tell you - that stuff goes EVERYWHERE! But can't beat the color.

The table looks awesome. I will be looking at cheapo tables at the thrift store differently now!
