How To Clean Gutters

I have a dirty BIG secret. My house get dirty, really dirty.
We live in town and we have large trees. Need I say more…
I hate dirty gutters, almost as much as I hate dirty windows and windshields.
I want gleaming gutters!
Okay, I hate them just as much and I really hate cleaning them.

I really don’t like cleaning anything that is miles over my head and I have to climb a ladder (or worse) to get to it.

And I really don’t like to go to all that trouble just to get something sorta clean.

We had them “cleaned” professionally once and I swear I could not even tell the difference.

Except the cobwebs were gone and I did not have to climb up and down on a ladder.
This is how you get gleaming gutters. Yep it is this simple except the part where you have to get to them.

That’s not fun, unless you like heights and stretching.

Imaging me taking these pictures on a ladder with a camera and this brush.

I know my neighbors thing I am cuckoo and it’s possible that I really am.
I learned along time again that gutters cannot be cleaned by water alone and by most cleaners as well .

409 is by far the most effective method that for cleaning gutters that I have ever used.

You can see that black mess start to melt away right after spraying it on.

By the way, this is not a sponsored post. We are not being compensated for endorsing 409.

We just wanted you to know how awesome it cleans gutters just in case you want gleaming gutters too!

Thanks for this tip! I love 409...it whacks grime and grease and is not as toxic as some other cleaners. Hubby has a hard time keeping up with cleaning the window sills from the inside (just does not like doing it I think) so I am going to suggest he get out his long handle brush and try the 409 route! We buy the big bottles to refill so he can pour some in a small bucket, dip his brush in it and scrub down the window sill! It is going to be super hot today so he can try it soon! Getting out the hose on a hot day is PERFECT! (We have sealed window panes so we can't pressure wash!) BTW, I bought dark charcoal gutters because they do not show dirt....LOVE them with the darker gray roof! They have been up 4 years and still look new!

No, I have used 409 for decades around the house and have never had it hurt anything.

BTW, When we last bought gutters, we got the charcoal ones...got tired of the white ones.

Hubs asked that they be put on the sides of the house instead of the front. Only the one gutter from the top section down to the lower section can be seen from the front. I love it!

Sorry, I do have a photo. I am a female and many years ago (approx 30). I took an auto restoring class. My husband and I had several Mustangs. In the class they taught us to use 409 to clean the underside of fenders, body panels etc. I am not being compensated. Just hope this helps someone. Sharon T. Newark, Ohio
