Paint on carpet problem

HELP!!! I was spray painting in living room, had drop cloth right on where I was painting, etc., thought I was being very careful. That night when I removed everything there was an "overspray" of the pain, light but shows exactly where drop cloth was etc. My carpeting is a straw color. I used some "Oops on it yesterday and it does take pain residue off but not all. Any suggestions? I have huge area rug over all and husband just thinks its there as we are painting other rooms! HELP!

If the area is very small..you could very carefully "trim" the fuzz of the top of the carpet fibers with fingernail scissors. You can also try to rough up the carpet first to get them to come up so to speak with a brush if it is shag type carpet. Over-spray probably just landed on the top layer of fibers
