DIY Velvet Pumpkins

I first spotted Velvet Pumpkins a few years ago, but I also spotted their hefty price tag. I thought I could make my own so I gave it a try. After some trial and error, I figured out an easy way to make them. My secret: dental floss!
What you will need to make your own velvet pumpkins is velvet cut into circles, a needle (with an eye large enough to thread it with waxed dental floss), waxed dental floss, and some polyester fiberfill.
I found that using thread wasn't working out but the waxed dental floss works perfectly. It's strong enough to pull the gathering stitch tightly.
The final step is to attach a "real" pumpkin stem.
