Staining a Concrete Patio

I stained our concrete patio using Quikrete concrete etching stain. I used a garden sprayer and applied the stain in a circular motion. Check out my blog post: http://beauxrevesamore.blogspot.com/2012/07...

Very pretty! Would that work for a sidewalk also?

Yes Shirley, I have seen it on walkways too.

Per staining a walkway ... most walkways have a rough finish, as opposed to patios and garage floor finishes, which are smooth. Don't think you would get the same effect, or sheen, in that case. But, I've never tried it, so I can't really say. Looks great!

How did you prepare the concrete before the stain?

Hi Winell, I powerwashed it to make sure there was no dirt on it first. The Quikrete product came with a video too! It was very helpful http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tk0nfvlTRE

Found this great screen door at a Flea Market.

Sat around for a while while I figured out "what to do with it"

Finally painted what I love and "framed" it.

Way to give it a go! The patio is much more inviting than it was before.
