From Builder Basic to a Custom Kitchen with just a few simple changes

All we did was: replace the microwave with a range hood, add a backsplash, pull some cabinet doors down to refit the microwave and add a wine cooler, add some moulding to the cabinets, distress/glaze the cabinets, and change the hardware. Oh and re-paint the walls in a lighter color- let's never forget the power of paint! It's amazing how much of a difference a few changes can make. Carmel, I just adore your kitchen ... I dream daily of putting glass front cabinets on top of mine. We have lots of room between the cabinet top and the ceiling. I think that will have to wait until the next kitchen reno ...

I wanted a white kitchen in the last house I built but the builder, the real estate agent & my friend all talked me out of it saying that was "old school", they yellow over time, & on & on but I'm lovin' this kitchen. If there is ever a next time, you can believe I will have a white & black kitchen!
