Dragonflies made from re-purposed materials

I made these two dragonflies using an old metal sign and a discarded chair leg! They are great to hang indoors or outdoors!

Dee, I used a plasma cutter to cut out wings and cut ends at an angle. Then I positioned them where I wanted the on the chair leg and the drilled holes in wings and chair leg. I attached with wood screws! I made made a bunch and sold. They are fun to do as each one is different. Some wings are made from old ceiling fan blades, some are made from old wire.

Very clever! I love re-purposing...my father was a carpenter by trade and the basement is full of lots of "left-overs", just don't have enough time in a day to do all the things I would like to. I love how you used the little keys! And your tutorial was very helpful. I look forward to viewing lots of ideas for right now. I am recovering from glaucoma surgery. I greatly enjoy being in the garden and adding unique items to it as conversation pieces....

I just love these. You really can't tell what they are even made out of until you said. The colors are great too. Great job

Thank you Deneen! I have a lot of fun making these flies, whether it is from meal, wire or wood. I guess next on my agenda is to create a butterfly!

You are right Terri! I have customers that have them inside for home decor and some have them on their porches, patios, fences and in their gardens!
