Project Fire Pit

Jacque and I have both always loved spending time outdoors. When we moved into our new house, we wanted to make our backyard, a place to relax and enjoy time together. We decided that a fire pit would make a great addition to the bare yard. We started with a blank slate and ended up using stacked stone to create the fire pit.
Add some flagstone pavers, low voltage landscape lighting, and a variety of shrubs and small trees and we're left with our Fire Pit Oasis! Our Bare Backyard, Pre-Fire Pit
We dug down about 8 inches so that we could lay a base of gravel (57 Stone) underneath the fire pit for drainage

Liliana D'Angeli on Feb 18, 2014Love the firepit idea as I am wanting to create one. I might though make the wall behind it higher for safety if sparks go off due to the fence. For seating I would just get 4 of those nice resin colored looking Adirondack chairs to place around it. They easily stack on top of each other when not in use. Or google for choices. Karen Schlese Munson on Mar 09, 2014This is a beautiful fire pit... we made ours with bricks and spend so much time out there in the spring, summer and fall. The air temperature determines how close we sit! lol Some of our best meals are made on the fire!
