Salvaged Wood Chalkboard

Jeanie
by Jeanie
I found a wonderful little gem of a place in my neck of the woods - Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Lancaster is known for its antiques, farms, and Amish & Mennonite communities.
This place is owned by a sweet Old Order Mennonite couple. They sell lots of salvaged goods.
And it's where I found a barn-full of salvaged wood siding.
The owner makes these wonderful mirrors by hand in his little work shed. I asked if he would sell me a few boards so that I could make my own mirror.
But after I made the frame, I thought a mirror is nice, but a chalkboard would be even better! Come over and visit my blog for the whole story of retrieving the wood and more photos of this great, little Lancaster County treasure!
