Repurpose of old bed frame

I am looking for ways to repurpose this footboard from an old bed frame. The wood is solid cherry and is quite heavy. Any ideas?

Turn it upside down and it's a Headboard. :)

Turn it upside down, attach it to a painted, boxy frame with a shelf-like top, and you have a fireplace (real or imagined) mantel.
