How To Make a Reclaimed Wood Day Bed

This DIY Saturday project was so fun and cost us nothing but our time. It literally took us all day long-from morning to evening but it was worth it.
Always "measure twice, cut once!"
We used a door and wood from an old house we tore down. The old rusted tin came from an old barn on our family's farm. We used what we had stored in our workshop to create this awesome day bed for our daughter.
I'm adding the cut wood pieces to the sides.
After making the wood frames for the sides, they were attached to the pallet bed and then the door was added to the back.
We put it together in the workshop and then took it apart to get it into my daughter's room, then reassembled it. Lots of moving and hauling-hope we don't have to move it any time soon-it was very heavy!
Build complete-just add a twin mattress.
