Wayne Buletza on Jun 07, 2015We have numerous maples that have grown significantly since I planted them 20 years ago. The problem is that grass no longer grows in the deep shade of these trees. Any suggestions?

Cheryle Fuller on Aug 22, 2015Joffler, i too am from Houston, and know about your isssue. You cannot grow St. Augustine under an oak tree. the tannins in the tree leaves and the amount of shade will not do your grass any good. Try monkey grass outlined in a border of rocks or metal edging to keep the tendrils of grass away. ivy will do well also.
