I've think this is the very first painted piano i've seen on Hometalk! It's beautiful! I love the color you chose. -
And what was the first song you played on your "new" piano? Really looks nice and is now more of an accent piece-as it should be. I am a music lover too. Were you concerned at all when you were working around the keys-did you protect them in any way? This is a project I need to do...aaah, someday. -
Thank you so much! I'm so happy with how it turned out. I didn't cover the keys because I couldn't come up with a good way to do it so I just painted carefully around them. I think the first song I played was CHOPSTICKS... hahaha! -
it's awesome! I wish I had the courage to paint a piano! I always love to see the results, but it must have been a lot of work!! Thanks for sharing :) -
It looks like a lot of work but by using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, it was really pretty easy. I didn't have to sand or prime it and the first coat of paint dried so quickly that I was ready to start the second coat as soon as I finished the first coat. I did the entire thing in a day and then waited for the clear wax to dry a couple of days before buffing it. Thanks so much for the sweet comments :) -
I love it! -
This is absolutely beautiful! I love that you were going to do Old White and went bolder! It definitely worked for you. :) -
Outstanding job! That tired ole piano is now a stunning focal point! And it has family history - that is always the best part! Enjoy it for many years to come, you made it proud again! -
The only reason to keep a piano is if it has sentimental value or still has a great sound. But it can be changed on the outside to bring a smile to your face! Love what you did!
