Z on Sep 04, 2014What about using shoe or other boxes on the shelves of the clothing stand for storage? If you turned them inside out and re-glued them, they'd closely match the wood. You might be able to find boxes to fit in the hanging cubbies too. Or get larger ones and cut them down before turning them inside out and re-gluing them. Without knowing everything you have to work with, it's hard to think of anything else.Helpful Reply

Darla on Sep 09, 2014You could put a curtain on the front of the closet organizer to unify the room and hide some of the clutter. Sheets or drop cloths or fabric from the thrift store could be used.Helpful Reply

Cindy on Sep 12, 2014Amy - Just saw your post. Pick your daughters favorite color as your main color and maybe another complimentary one. Try looking around The Dollar Store if you have one in your area. They usually always have different size containers, baskets, etc in a variety of colors. I see you have a small one already, so try to find some of ones a bit larger that would hold a few toys, book, or shoes. Take your daughter and let her pick a few out for those lower shelves that she can reach. Then help her figure out what goes in her new "special storage containers". She can even decorated the front of them with stickers she may run across. The idea for sheets or old curtains around the closet organizer is a great idea. Ribbon can be used to drape it back & tied with a bow at front if wanted. They don't have to be new either. Matching sets for the organizer and other things in the room could be made to coordinate .... curtains, doll bed made from box, couple of pillows for her bed, etc. If the chest of drawers is not expensive or sentimental, paint it or even freehand some flowers on it. Stencils work great too for the 'drawing impaired' like me. I know my granddaughter would go nuts over that. And make some kind of wall art with her name on it. Just look around for inspiration...you will find it. Doesn't have to be done all at once...I believe in 'works in progress.' ;-)Helpful Reply
