Fire pit placement

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Sep 03, 2014Not sure what design your speaking of, but fire and wood simply do not mix. I would suggest that you use cement pavers and create a round pattern if your looking to seat people around the pit, then using a pre-made metal fire pit place it in the center of the new stone hearth. If you want a gas unit they do make those that can be installed onto the deck surface. Or simply run a gas pipe up through the newly installed paver hearth and connect it to a free standing pit assembly.Helpful Reply

The Chirping Frog on Sep 30, 2014Agreed.... you'll need a barrier of concrete and then use a metal insert.... You can always have the insert fabricated to fit.... then you could get one a little heavier duty than the thin ones you'll find at the hardware stores and you could make whatever shape you wanted.Helpful Reply
