I agree Buster.I would have double the amount of flowers if I just had more space for them. There's nothing quite as beautiful to me as colorful flowers in bloom around every corner.Right now I still have an amazing garden and we are less than 6 weeks away from Christmas. One of the nice things about growing flowers in the South. Our winters are usually mild.

@Judy4justice Yep thats me too.. when I was really young my grandfather had created a 3-tier flower bed all the way across the back yard for my grandmother, and there were every kind of flower you could think of there.. it caught the sun pretty much all day,and the butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds were constantly busying themselves from one flower to another. It was in bloom from the first sign of spring til frost finally forced it to cease for the winter.. I can still remember the aroma of the different flowers especially after a spring or summer shower... My mom was the same way about having flowers here at the old home place.. constantly trying new things here or there these are what gave me my love for flowers... I was constantly taking cuttings off of other peoples plants to add to my garden wherever I am... I visited California a few years ago, and brought back seeds and cuttings to see what could live here in Tennessee.. Didnt have much luck but enjoyed the try anyways. It doesn't take a lot to keep me busy and content.. Flowers and plants are a gift that is a growing reminder of where you were or the person who shared them with you (even if they are deceased or live far away)... They are more than just something to walk by they can become a cherished living reminder of something special. We have a website here where people give and and get things... Someone offered a 7ft cactus... now not many people would tackle something like that... but I did... when I got there the woman explained that their son had given it to her for a mothers day when he was a child.. but it had become SO big that she couldn't deal with bringing it in every year, and then maneuvering around it all winter... I told them I would go ahead and take it but on one condition... that we take a small cutting off of it and plant it in another pot and she keep it as a reminder of that gift from her son.. Thats what we did... I brought the big cactus home and have taken several cuttings from it since and now have plenty of them.. No one else cares about them.. but me.. and thats fine.. I like em. Any way thats just a few of my plant stories... I could go on and on with others but you get the idea of how my brain works... lol take care

I agree with all of you that the more the merrier. Some people like a very limited variety or extremely tidy garden and there are others of us that are more like "Flowers Gone Wild"!!!! I love to try all varieties and like Buster Evans, I have tried and am still trying to grow flowers/trees from all over the country, makes me happy. I have found that many of them if I protect them for the first year or 2 to give them a really good start, they will live on. I want variety and flowers are one of my spices of life!!
