The Garden Frog with C Renee on Sep 04, 2014for drainage next to the house I would put in pea gravel or other decorative rock. that way the water can drain and you could put pots on top for color and blooms. without a pic it is hard to give advice.Helpful Reply

Creativeme on Sep 05, 2014This has worked for me for about 5 years. It isn't a given solution, my resolution with what was sitting around. I had a long aluminum piece which was about 8" wide (already folded) and the length of my patio. No clue what it was bought for or would be used for. Guessing it may be flashing for roofs. I put this across the length of the house/patio with the fold at a slight angles with thin layer of pebbles behind.. Then the pebbles/sand/pavers. My house has wood shingles and there was enough room to add this without water getting near the bottom edge. You didn't say how much room from ground up to your siding. Run a search for drainage and see if something comes up to work for you and how much of an angle away from house is needed.Helpful Reply

Jeanette S on Sep 05, 2014I would get some pressure treated lumber and build a bridge with railings...making sure it is even at both surfaces. Make sure you set your "feet" for this in concrete. Then put in some rocks. You can add pots in the summer. (Dig out some under where you want the bridge, get it in place and concrete dry and then level it out and fill in with rock.) You can actually make it slightly bowed to get the lumber off the ground for a very pretty look.Helpful Reply
