My husband & I made this using, worming chestnut. It took 5 men to put it where I wanted it lol. I use it for storing my rakes & other gardening tools.
Dee W. we was given this worming hole chestnut in trade of hardware from the store we owned lol. worming chestnut is hard to find & I thought it would make a great looking worn out, outhouse :) I used 2 coats of polyurethane. after first coat we sand & then added another coat. This outhouse is so heavy, it didn't need anchored. It survived the worst snow storms we had in 2010-2011 here in our part of Ohio(north east). Steve G. haha they better never :)
Dee W. I'm close to Eastliverpool. I actually live in Salinesville but have a hammondsville address. Crazy how that works lol. @ Douglas, I agree. Sad part is, I had to leave that outhouse behind. We purchased some land & when we moved, we had no way to hall it. I'll make another but will probably be barnwood unless I get lucky again & find the worming chestnut :)
@Dee, Sad to say, "They haven't". I planted over $500 worth of perrinials, the last year I was there & nothing has been done with them either :( Makes me angry when I drive by. People have told me, I should have taken them with me, but I wasn't about to dig up the landscaping(I dug by hand) & leave it looking empty. Atleast now, whatever I do in landscaping, will be mine :)
So you are now in you "forever" home? Did you find the perfect one or did you have it built? New home=new ideas. I'd love to see what you are doing at your new place when you get the chance.
Dee W Sad to say we are not moved into our new place. We bought 5 acres next to my father-in-laws land. No loan, paid on it paycheck to paycheck. Our plans wasto build a home but after 3 months, wehad a reality check. Being parents to 6 children & 1 grandbaby....it would take us too long. I still refuse to get a loan. We don't need the added bill. There is an old trailor sitting on our property. It was in bad shape! We spent all

last winter, gutting the entire thing, down to joists. Drywall, wiring, windows & even the outer tin is all gone & redone so far. Are plans was to be in by this winter. Reality check again lol. We turned our father-in-laws garage into a 2 bedroom home(last fall) & living cosey, for another winter. By summer 2013 is our new goal. I do have pics on my FB page of the scarey mess we got ourselves into. Your welcome to add me https://www.facebook.com/#!/TriciaParrish6
Diane B, I hasseled mine for years LOL I can wait to have another. This time I want a little window on one side so I can do I flower box under it ;)
Tricia, must admire and applaud your determination! At present my husband is working on a patio (Valentine, Easter, Mothers Day, Anniversary etc etc present) and along the way we are now painting the interior of our home (Christmas party) for the first time in 10 years. House is beyond disaster, but a wake up call if we had to move. Love our acres in GA and look forward to a few more years here enjoying our summers with our 3 grands, dogs, cats, chickens, gardens and all the other animals
