I found two vintage wood folding chairs at Goodwill for $5 each. As soon as they put them out I knew I had to have them I waited paitently for a man to walk away from them so I could swoop in and grab them! As soon as I saw these beauties, I knew what type of makeover they'd get.
I made these americana style chairs with paint, plain old copy paper and decoupage.
This is what they looked like when I brought them home.
I gave the frame a coat of blue paint
And dry brushed the seat with alternating red and blue paint.
I wanted stars that wrapped all around the back seat slats and tested out several types of material before choosing plain old copy paper from my printer.
I love how they turned out. They reminded me of old time concerts on the lake. Which we still have here during the fall months!
Which is why I had to bring them down to the park near the big old oak trees for my photos. They fit well here, don't you think?
