Furniture Revivals Painting

Transforming a wood armoire into a painted treasure!

I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint for this project. The first 2 coats were French Linen, then a thinned coat of Old White. I mixed clear and dark wax with a little French Linen paint and waxed the entire piece. I painted the hardware with Graphite and waxed.

You can find my full DIY instructions here....http://www.janis-allthingsbeautiful.com/2012/07/armoire-painted-furniture-makeover.html

Yes Judith...just wipe it down and start painting! Annie Sloan Chalk Paint adheres without any priming or sanding. I find it very user friendly.

Deb, if you can't find a stockist in your area, there are plenty that you can order from online. For this project, I used Annie Sloan Clear and Dark Wax. I've also heard good things about Briwax as well. I think you'll love the waxed finish!!

Finally found Annie Sloan in my area but my brain nearly exploded when I was looking at the waxes, colors, etc etc so THANK YOU for this post! It gives me a bit more clarity. It turned out fabulous. You did an incredible job. Can I ask, what type/size brush(s) did you use? I've been hearing lately that sponge brushes are better as they leave no brush marks, but, aren't high quality brushes supposed to achieve the same thing? I've used mostly spray paint on my furniture for this reason-but it sure does limit my options! Thanks!
