Our patio has evolved into an outdoor room and an extension of our home

In 1996 we had a small concrete patio. It faced south and was too hot and too small to call it an outdoor room. We added an awning and after a few years made the patio bigger with stone pavers. When the awning rotted we decided to build a roof and the project took off. We ended up with a bigger patio and it's evolved into a space we love!

With the addition of new comfortable furniture our patio has become our spot for morning coffee and relaxing in the evening. We even watch tv there!
In 2010 this was the patio, http://www.thebungalowblog.com/category/patio

John Gregory on May 29, 2016This post was really helpful as this is where I got the idea for my new patio. It's still being built but I made sure to have a stained concrete overlay on my surface to make it more appealing.
