Painting Fabric With Chalk Paint

For years I have seen blog post after blog post about painting fabric with Chalk Paint and I would also shake my head and say "no no no, do not ruin that piece!". Well I am a believer now.
I needed to find an easier way to update some frenchy style chairs for our dining room. Upholstering was not an option I wanted to choose this time around because it hurst my hands for many days afterwards.
I decided to go ahead and give Chalk Paint a try. I had nothing to loose. Worse case scenario I would have to take the fabric off.
If you stop by my blog and read the post you will find my tips on painting fabric with Chalk Paint.
The dining room chairs came out fabulous! I am now a believer! Please pop on over and see all the details on this project.

I have a white leather chair, can that be painted? i never heard of painting fabric, so I was amazed at what you did. I am not a real crafty person, so these things just don't come to me. But my leather chair, I got at a resale shop, over time it has gotten , well I can't seem to clean it, but it is too good to get rid of, and I can't really afford to have it reupholstered. I am not the handiest person, but I am learning, thanks to all of you.

@Mars have you considered Sharpie markers or some other alcohol based ink?

Your painted chair looks wonderful! Is painted upholstery scratchy to the touch?
