My Trip To Kingwood Center

Photos from my trip to Kingwood Center located in Mansfield Ohio. It's a 47 acre estate turned into a series of public gardens. When asking around, it seems as if no one really knows about this place. More information regarding Kingwood Center can be found here http://www.kingwoodcenter.org/cms/

I love touring public gardens where lots of money and plenty of help turns them into a fantastic retreat!

There's nothing like a public garden for providing inspiration, and you have certainly given us some.

This brings back memories of my Mother. She loved Kingwood Gardens. She had to go to a Doctor in Mansfield and every time we would go to the "Gardens". She had asthma and could not always walk around but we would drive in and look anyway! Thanks for the memories!!!

Thanks all for the comments. It was brutal during our visit as it was 95 degrees with the heat index of 103. Worst yet was that it was 110-120 in some of the greenhouses lol!

I remember my parents taking me to Kingwood Center when I was very small so my memories of the place refer to the peacocks that still live on the grounds and how big the property is. Fast forward 20 years later and the place doesn't seem as big as I remember it, but it's still a walk! ...»

Judging by the roof of the mansion and the mortar/concrete in many of the walkway paths, I think there is going to be some major renovations or repairs coming up for that property.

Can't wait to go back and take a tour of the mansion itself.

You're welcome. If you've never been there, I suggest paying for a public or private tour of the estate. They are pretty cheap. Parking will set you back $5.00
