Carroll it sounds like I need to visit my nieces that live in Eugene, Oregon. It's warmer there than on the coast, but still at 72 it would feel chilly in comparison to 98.
Susan S, I used to complain a little when it was too hot here but no more. Too many states have had far worse temps than Florida. I wonder what will happen in winter; Florida freezes and the North has temperate weather?
I have sooo many projects waiting in the outside wings that I can't do nuthin about cuz it's just so bloomin HOT!!! The weather people in the greater DC metro area refer to our summers as the 3 H's - HAZY, HOT & HUMID!!
Oregon actually sounds pretty good to me right about now!!
I know what you mean. I have loads of things I'd like to do, but it's too hot for the air conditioner in the garage to do any good even if I turn it on the night before. Right now I'm working on refinishing a table for our son in our sunroom because my husband has taken over the basement wood work shops (we have a separate room for staining away from all the saw dust) so I can't work down there. Luckily we had a huge roll of heavy duty plastic that I rolled out to cover everything.
Susan, that is hot! The other day I had dry goods in my car. We were packing up for a stay at the beach. I went to my booth to check my inventory and started wondering if the 110 and higher temps in my car would pop my microwave popcorn in the car. Maybe we need to update the test of frying an egg on the sidewalk and see if the heat pops microwave popcorn. : ) Stay cool! Rebecca www.youaretalkingtoomuch.com
Rebecca, that sounds like the internet mailing where the Pillsbury biscuits blow in the back of the car! I feel for all of you in the 3 digit temps. We've been there and done that, matter of fact, one year our A/C croaked and we experienced those temps w/o A/C for days. Can anyone say "climate change"? It's really concerning to me about what is to come next (weatherwise). We went from about 6 mos. drought to receiving the entire season's rainfall met in just one month! From sodweb

worms and chinch bugs to fungus. As of the last 2 yrs., our temps begin to soar into the 90's come May these days, instead of waiting for July, as used to be typical........there for a while, I was concerned I was becoming heat sensitive...........then it dawned on me. 8-)
We are in our fourth week of temps over 100 degrees and humidity around 86%.....NO RAIN for the last 3 weeks & cracks in the ground big enough to swallow a small dog...j/k, but the cracks are huge!
