Painting a glass top coffee table

I have three glass top coffee tables, with expresso stained legs and silver bars. I would like to paint them to match the decor in my redecorated living room. Can you paint a glass top with Chalk Paint? Has anyone ever done this before? I am thinking a brownish gray.
