I love to save money so when I find something in the high end stores and think I can make it, I try! I found this mummy pillow online at Pottery Barn. My littlest grandson saw it too and asked if he could have that. I told him, "let’s see if grandma can make it. And I did! I love ours more because mummies sometimes have gauze on them, and I figured out a way to use it, but also to keep it from being snagged, drooping, and torn. This was the first time I have ever made an insert pillow. In fact, I have only made two pillows ever. I had no pattern but from my visual memory I pulled it off! I had everything I needed in my stash so it didn't cost me a dime!
This was such a fun project to do. If you would like to try this too, I got the hard part all figured out for you. There is a tutorial on the blog I shared.
I love love the gauze on this!
This was Pottery Barn's mummy pillow. This is what inspired me, and the picture I used to create mine. Their's was a 12 x 12. Mine is 20 x 20.
This is the back of the pillow. This is where I had a smart moment to save on sewing. More on the blog about that in the tutorial!
I just love him! We named him "Mumford!" Perfect don't you think?!
