Hi Lynn, This is true. The slab needs to be moved in an up right position, the same as glass is move or the chance of it cracking before you get home is greater. You could build a stand just to move it. But if you have it delivered then the liability is theirs and they should already have a truck setup for this.

Hudson has it again Lynn. Just moving it in will take at least a few folks depending on the full shape, these folks do it every day and they'll get it in and set it right in place. Ts-Up 2 U HD! JL

Travertine isn't durable until it is set, it breaks easily and is damaged easily. I wouldn't mess with it unless you have a lot of experience doing so. Let the professionals do it you'll be a lot happier and if something goes wrong it is on them not you.

We agree with Hudson Design, this not a vary heavy stone, however we would use an " A" frame, properly blocked and straped to take it to the jobsite.
