Yard sale lamp brightens up

My husband calls it junk. I call it Things I Need. Rather than regret not buying something at a sale, I will usually haul it home and try to save it or repurpose it. (And he may not always say so, but I think my husband loves most of the results!)
I wasn't sure this 75 cent lamp was worth taking home, but I loved the Art Deco look of it.
It came apart fairly easy and I basically had only two sections that needed painting.
I had seen a blog post where the diy-er had painted a lamp to resemble malachite, so I attempted my version. I first painted the base coat with bright green acrylic.
Using a brush and several colors of paint ( green, olive, black, turquoise, etc) I loaded each side of my brush with a light and dark and used circle motions to fill the space. I finished it off with a spray gloss sealer.
Because I couldn't get the metal to shine, I brushed it lightly with a metallic gold paint to brighten it up. Now to find the perfect lampshade!
