Lovely transformation Lorraine. I normally hate to see a tree taken down, but I can see why you chose to do so. Certainly was an odd place to have one.

Thank You, I hated to see the big old tree go too! If only it was closer to the road and not 15 feet from my house! I plan to plant a few new trees after I decide where I want them and what kind I should plant!

The before looks like a pictorial test for landscaping: "What's wrong with this picture?" Some plant trees without ever considering just how big it will get, and the poor tree pays for it. You definitely didn't have enough space to pull this one off. The new landscape and hardscape compliment your home beautifully!

Fantastic job...do not feel badly about that tree. Sometimes trees planted years ago just get too big and sometimes old and in bad shape they endanger our homes...so no choice but to take them out. I am facing this myself. I don't know if I want another tree because of the roots in the sewer system!
