It's mid-summer and these plants are right on schedule with their large blooms.

    Susan S., I believe that's the standard height for these lilies. The blooms last for about a week for everyone to enjoy.

    WOW! I can't believe the stuff you can grow outside there!!!! That is just awesome....Caladiums are all we can have and they have to come in for the winter....

    True Sharron, but you can grow other things up there that won't do well here. Tropicals do well here in subtropical weather. Come serious winter weather, the special tote boxes of sheets and blankets come out, and this is one of the babies that has to sleep warm.

    Becky, I think it was absolutely inspired planting caladiums at the base of your crinum. To my eye that is a plant that definitely needs some "shoes and socks" and the caladiums do that felicitously.
