DIY Herringbone Box

If your house is anything like mine then I'm sure you have a space in your home where all the clutter collects. In our house, it was the kitchen counter. Our mail, school papers, spare change, phones and odds and ends always got piled on the counter. In an attempt to control the clutter I designed a divided herringbone box to hold all our important items.
I started with scrap wood and cut the pieces down to size. Using wood glue and clamps I attached each piece together and let it dry before applying the stain.
The herringbone design was created out of wood shims and attached to the front of the box using wood glue.
The box is perfect for keeping our phones, spare change and important items organized and easily accessible.
