nice! i saw an idea someone was doing where plates like yours are glued to a lamp bottom - recycling the lamp. makes a nice stand! love these ideas -
It's so dry here in Southwest Iowa that the water in our bird baths doesn't last more than a day. We have to fill it everyday. At least we don't have to worry about mosquito larvae in there! Very nice idea!

Very cute idea, I'll have to try it. -
Great idea! I found one at a garage sale with a bluebird on it! -
Love it. -
Great idea and Beautiful -
Mary, you might want to check out the one you found, it could be worth some money. -
i like your garden -
I agree with Rhonda Thompson Leonard....looks like I live right across the river from her & we would need a large soup bowl rather than a salad plate to keep water in it for even 12 hrs especially now with our draught but I love love this plate & with the colored stones it is so refreshing to look at. -
Thanks Mila,I will check it out. -
That is so cool. I would of never thought of this -
I LOVE IT!!! NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF IT, WILL GO LOOK THROUGH MY MISC DISHES, I WILL HAVE ONE IN GARDEN TODAY. -
we moved into an apartment, 3rd floor and I am desperatly missing my garden. I have some hanging plants but I am really missing my butterflys and garden decorations and birds!! We do have woods behind us and that helps. Any ideas? -
@Bobbie if you hang a shallow dish of sugar water and a little dab of mud, (yes mud) from an area that you see butterflys congregate then they should come to visit and drink the sugar water....they like the mud because it gives them essential minerals.... Also a Dish garden on the Balcony is a wonderful way to help get over being in an apt vs a house and yard... -
Yes, our tag sale is like your garage sale. -
You can find anything at tag sales. That's the beauty of them and for a tenth of the original price. I did a post on my blog on ways to get cheaper prices at tag sales. -
Are my pictures still here? -
Yes the pictures are still here...LOL -
Thanks, Sharron... some people were saying they weren't here. Whew! I hate technical problems.. -
I did this with a large bowl found at Goodwill. It cost $3.99. -
What a great find; your garden treasure is beautiful! -
I love the colors and the idea! Great look for any garden! -
Love this idea !! I can't wait to get out into garden to try this. A big thanks. -
A bright and colorfulf idea. I definately will try this ! -
At my old house I had a small straw wreath and tied jute to it in three places so that it hung from my deck roof even. I sat a medium sized bowl inside of it(so that it fits well) and then fill it with water and a few rocks for the butterflys and some birds to hang out on. I just loved it!
