Windjammer Jars I have purchased these beautiful jars to use as canisters for my kitchen. When they arrived it states on the bottom "Not for food use, May poison". If I put freezer bags in the container and sealed them do you think it would be safe for the food? Please help with my dilemma.

Personally I couldn't take the chance not knowing what it is that "may poison".
  • I am with Becky-these jars could be made with lead and other poisonous metals and materials. Unfortunately many items for China contain lead and as consumers we need to be careful what we buy. So I would not even take a chance and I would not even put any food that is prepackaged either because you do not know if the materials could absorb into the packaging.

The Garden Frog is correct. That was my worry too, that the "poison" would leach through the plastic bag. If you've ever had a case of food poisoning, you'll not want to take the chance. At all!
