Can you chalk paint on a laminate piece of furniture
-
Michelle Baker on Sep 23, 2014Yes. You can use chalk paint on laminate. I have yet to find any surface that won't accept chalk paint. Depending on the color of the piece, you might want to use a primer, like Kilz, to make coverage faster. Chalk paint can be expensive, so I try to minimize the number of coats it will take to cover.Helpful Reply

Jody on Mar 05, 2015You could try a scratch test first by painting a small section and wait for it to dry. If it scratches off easily then you might want to take some 200 grit sand paper and just rough it up a bit so the paint has something to grip. But, as Michelle said, most chalk paint will adhere to anything. I use Van Gogh Fossil Paint.Helpful Reply
