Weathered Wood Wall Hook..."Thingy"

I created this weathered wood beach inspired wood piece for my laundry room to hold back packs and jackets. Find out how I created this look with pine boards and acrylic paint.
I knew I wanted to give the hooks in my laundry room more stability using some kind of wood treatment for them to screw into. I didn't want to do bead board or board and batten, so this is what I came up with.
I started out painting boards in various colors (I later switched the red for a soft blue). Then I used an easy paint technique to create this weathered look.
Come on over to Slightly Coastal to find out what I did to create this weathered look on these cheap pine boards. I ended up with a great looking piece for my coastal inspired laundry room.
