Easy Fall Wreath with Potpourri

Fall wreath

Maybe you are like me and are tired of your fall wreath from last year. So when I was in Michael’s Craft store buying some candles, I notice the large bags of decorative potpourri-you know, the ones that have all the unusual botanicals and are color coordinated. I knew that I wanted to stick with a more neutral and natural color scheme this year, so I picked one up and grabbed a large grapevine wreath.

I used the whole bag except for some larger balls that seemed too big for the frame. I set aside the pretty wooden flower shapes to use as a focal point later. I started by gluing-the large brown seed pods-in a nice pattern all over the wreath, leaving a gap at the bottom for the wooden flowers. They were the largest in number and color, so I used them as a base. Next I added the lighter colored seed pods, followed by the cream-colored buds and curled wood pieces, tucking them in here and there to fill in bare spots or just to highlight an area. Then I glued on the wooden flowers and finished with the yellow berry sprigs and small tan colored florets.
