While browsing Hometalk and other DIY sites I notice that repurposing pallets is a big hit right now. I find that slightly humorous seeing as how my family has been using wood from pallets for all sorts of things ever since is was a kid.
So, to follow along with the trend I decided to share this little fence I built for my mom using pallet slats. Totally free, using all scrap parts.
Just a little fence dividing the patio from the back yard. The slats along the front are off pallets. The gate was one previously used on a dog kennel. That's my lovely lady standing there.
I used 4x4 fence posts and hardware left over from another fence in the yard. Used 2x4's from pallets as cross beams. You can see some print on the back of the slats but for now it remains unpainted since my mother hasn't decided what she wants to do yet.
For the latch I had to get creative with what I had. Those are metal handles from a garage door. I had to use another 2x4 to fill up space.

This was my most recent venture using pallets but you can bet that I got some stacked off to the side ready to be part of some new creation.
