My buffet table needs some love!

My buffet table, which is used as a media stand, is in dire need of some TLC. The inside on one side has become detached from the top and the doors are uneven due to the detachment. Can it be fixed and how do I fix it? I would also like to paint it and would love some ideas. I've been thinking about painting it a white, white-yellow, or olive and staining the top a dark stain.
On the inside in the middle where it has become detached from the top.
The middle inside where it is detached from the top
The other side of the middle inside. This is what it looks like attached.
The front middle doors sit unevenly due to the inside board being detached from top.

Very hard to see where it's detaching. But yes it can be fixed. Most anything can be fixed. Wood glue, clamps, screws, etc. painting just depends on your taste and decor.

Wood glue to the pieces, then clamp or tape them together until the glue is set. Then, if the back is not visible, put in a couple of screws to stabilize the pieces. As far as the finish goes, this piece, with all of the beveled edges on the doors, would look amazing with a chalk paint finish and glazed details. The top could be left alone or just adding a finish glaze to spruce it up a bit. Make sure you post "after" pics!

new hinges can make a world of difference and as the others said, wood glue, clamps and screws can fix the rest. A piece of 1/4 or 1/2 plywood cut to fit the back and attached would give a lot of stability as well. Sand and restain the whole piece and voila!

Hinges do get sprung/bent and do not work properly...try some new ones. This is not a really pretty piece so a cream paint with some dark wax will bring out the good points. Post a finished picture.

@Katelynn If you look at it closely, you will see all the grooves where the wax will settle...I think it will be most striking when done. And new knobs can completely change its character. You might can also find beautiful oriental hinges too! This would also be beautiful in flat black with oriental pulls. It would alter it completely! Just look at it and imagine the knobs. (You can google "where can I find oriental cabinet pulls" and find great stuff.) (The right color red would be daring!)

So far all the paint suggestions are light - but with all the detail on this, I'd use black, accent the moldings with an antique gold and use new antique gold knobs on the doors.

I had an old waterfall dresser of my granny's, it was in poor shape. The veneer was peeling from the fronts of ther drawers. I painted it, sanded all raised patterns on wood, and on the drawer fronts, found wallpaper at Lowes, not printed kind, but white with a beautiful raised pattern. Covered the draw fronts, and put a coat of poly,( the kind you use for latex paint), on it, and my granny would be proud. you can also paint wallpaper any color you like, I kept mine white, but any color is fine.
