Upcycled Nighstand With Mirror & Light!

I turned this vintage nightstand into a truly unique, larger upcycled and repurposed creation!
Here you see the completed piece.
It all started with this vintage, slender nightstand that had some great features. I used some chalk paint layers and did some custom distressing.
I used some table legs from a vintage Duncan Phyfe style table that had a bad third leg.
Here's the side view of the table legs.
Anytime I run across vintage surveyor sticks, they don't last long. I can't resist using them to make a certain part of a project POP as you see here. I also used measuring sticks to line the sides of the reclaimed mirror.
The polished metal piece is actually a piece of new, old stock of 70s automotive trim.
After digging around, I found this awesome car emblem that closely matched my paint color and chose it to bring it all together up top. I used some metal screen for the wrap-around shroud.
With a piece this tall, I had to throw in a light. I used this vintage vanity light to accent the piece.
And we've come full circle!

Neat idea. Like the red so much - just me - would have done the mirror frame same. The table legs are great for adding extra support. Am not keen on the top - seems a bit confused. Would make a great little hall tree by adding some hooks along the edges of the mirror for sweaters, caps. etc.
