My First Attempts at Pallet Furniture

Thrown away pallets that I rescued. Never tried to build furniture before, but I love these heavy duty pallets. A pickle to tear down, but I love the colors of the wood. This kind is hard to find here where I live now. All I can find are the flimsy cheap ones. These have mostly oak in them and are very heavy.
It took me a long time to make the first pallet bench, but now that I have learned a few things by trial and error I love doing this!
I tore a pallet completely down and then added strips of cedar and a cedar shelf.
I like this Pallet bench better than the first one because I turned the shelf pieces the other way. This one is now used as a place to store shoes beside the door!
I later used oil paint to wipe a stain on this one. I got it too dark so I sanded it down and added some lighter blue color and it turned out really nice!
This made it so much easier to build the benches. Very sturdy.
I added longer sides and attached an arm rest and colored the seat.
I added some lighter blue and touches of orange and brown. My hubby took this one to put his work shoes on since it has a nice bottom shelf.
I used pallets and treated lumber for this bench as well as a front apron. I added orange to make it look like the nails left rusty streaks. I think I am improving! I also posted how to use the tools I used to make them on my new blog.
