Cracks in My Shower Tile

Timothy Jones on Oct 08, 2014its a repair that can be done, but a very time consuming job. You have to try to take the whole tiles out and hope not to damage the other tiles surrounding. it should be able to be repair in a day, but you will have to reseal it and let stand for 72 hr, sorry about the poor jobHelpful Reply

Kelly Patterson on Oct 08, 2014I would not do this job yourself!! If you signed a contract there may be a clause stating that if you do any changes on your own the company may not cover any future damages. I would defiantly get ahold of the owner of the company and let them know your situation and tell them you will take legal action if you are not satisfied with there answer. I would also ask them if they used ready back or any moisture resistant backing to make sure that you will not have a mold problem (that will turn Into a huge expensive project and is unsafe especially if you have children)Helpful Reply

Tom Mueller on Oct 08, 2014Thank you Kelly! They used red guard to prevent future mold damage. I feel real bad for the tile sub sub contractor. He did a very good job all in all and is a very very nice guy. The crack would not be visible because of the shampoo that would sit on the soap holder. He was not told about the soap holders by the tile company so he had to build them out of tile and that was very difficult for him. But above all, I want to make sure water will not expose us to potential water damage in the future.Helpful Reply

Timothy Jones on Oct 08, 2014Hey Tom just to re insure you tile will not leak as long as you keep the grout lines sealed and cleaned. Sounds like your a very forgiving guy. I would at least let the guy know about the cracked tile.Helpful Reply

BahamasSSSP on Sep 12, 2016Old fashioned white toothpaste makes a lot of tile cracks disappear. (Fixes small wall cracks, too.) Seems to last forever. Might not work on a low shower tile, however.Helpful Reply
