What is this?

While on my way to the grocery store this weekend I saw a junk pile on the side of the road, stopped and picked up this "table/cabinet", not sure what it is but I thought it was cute and needed to be saved. Does anyone know what it is? It's copper lined and measures 23" tall, 13" wide and 11" deep. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I agree,, smokers cabinet..very popular decades ago.. they were lined to keep the tobacco fresh. It can absorb moisture.. Cigars are usually stored in a humidor.. this may act as one of those also..if its airtight..
