Fall Arrives in the Garden

Perhaps, my favourite season of all here in Ontario. Color is just arriving, although my garden is still quite green. The longer shadows and soft colors of the season bring another aspect of " lovely" to my garden.
Grey ghost pumpkins and white coloured ornamental squash were added to small pots of a trailing vine. All anchored on the terrace table on a big slab of wood, cut from a large felled tree from our surrounding woods.
Moss covers just about anything I allow it to grow on.
The lower terrace stones have finally filled in with moss as well. It has taken literally years and a lifetime of gardening to witness it.
The pachysandra ground cover along the back walk will remain green all year.
Grey ghost pumpkin keeping company with my pot of oregano, still flourishes till frost.
Indoors, the green color scheme from the garden continues. Kale, white princess pumpkins and pears and sticks are added to the kitchen island.
From a farm stand down the road.
I literally rustled these pears on the branch, from an abandoned orchard near my home!
Although I love traditional fall colours, and we are surrounded by its beauty as our woods surrounding our home acquire those colors. I prefer a more gentle color palette-green, white, soft greys for indoors.
Wishing you all a beautiful fall- N.
