Before and After - A Vintage Chest
by
The Painted Drawer by Suzanne Bagheri
(IC: blogger)
This lovely vintage chest was a Craigslist find. It looks fantastic in the picture. However, upon closer inspection it actually had quite a bit of damage. Chipped veneer and scratches covered the piece. My client wanted a creamy white and it now has new life!
Here is the before pic. It is full of vintage detail and all of its hardware is intact.
A more up close picture shows some of the missing veneer and damage.
Here is the after pic. I used Annie Sloan chalk paint in Old White and Old Ochre and sealed it with Fiddes & Sons wax/polish.
Another "before" of the drawer.
And the after show how the details now pop and the hardware stands out.
More pics and details on the blog!
