Tube in fridge freezer area freezes/thaws leaving puddles of water.

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Oct 07, 2014There are several things that can be causing issues with this. Defrost cycle can be messed up. This is controlled using a electronic timer located somewhere in the fridge. Another reason is that the pipe is blocked and not allowing the water to flow fast enough out leaving some behind causing the overflow. Still another reason is where the pipe drains to there should be a plastic tray to catch the water. Once the water drips into the pan it evaporates from the heat being blown out of the fridge. Do you have a model number along with name? It should be on a tag inside one of the doors.Helpful Reply

Timothy Jones on Oct 08, 2014besides the drain hose in the freezer which it sounds like that's the problem,(plugged line) run a small wire down tube, or try to install a new one, if that dont work try installing a new thermostat for the freezer and fridge. most of the time there located be hind the inside panel in the fridge around the back. check make and model type.Helpful Reply

Sherrie on Oct 08, 2014I agree it's the drain hose. And running something down or on some you use to be able to remove them. Does your have a drip pan underneath?Helpful Reply

Marion Nesbitt on Oct 09, 2014My problem was caused by stray coffee grounds plugging up the tube. Repair guy had me get out my wet-dry shop vac and he kept flushing it until it was clear. No more storing coffee in the freezer to keep it fresh!Helpful Reply

Monique Clouatre on Oct 13, 2014I will do my best to explain. Check if the hole at the botton of your fridge is blocked . Blow with a straw and when it is free the water will go in the pan under your fridge, That is why the water stays there. I am sure this is the problem. Good luck, Monique from Canada.Helpful Reply

Carol S on Oct 17, 2014Thanks, @monique Clouatre. The water doesn't collect in the pan underneath the fridge, but on the shelves inside.Helpful Reply

Monique Clouatre on Oct 18, 2014Since the water does not go in the pan it is because the drain hole is blocked, if the water goes on the shelves it is because the water has no means of going in the underneath pan, Good luck, MoniqueHelpful Reply
