Iron and Wood Bench Make Over. Who knew it looked so bad before!!!!

We've had this bench right outside our front door for years. We sit there to read the mail and newspaper, watch the birds, wave at the neighbors and talk about how much the lawn needs mowed. One day while in a what can I paint now binge, I looked at, I mean REALLY LOOKED AT, that bench. Wow, it was rough looking. I took it apart, scrubbed, sanded, painted and put it back together. That sounds so easy, doesn't it? Well, it really was very simple. The bench is heavy and the process a little time consuming, but it is something most anyone can do! Check it out and see what you think!

I love the pink. I'd like to see a pretty shot of the updated bench with the flowers - I bet that looks gorgeous!

Beautiful is what I think! Like the black and white with the pops of color in the flowers and pillows. Cheerful place to sit.

I have 2 benches where the wood has gone bad. I'm always looking at them thinking that I have to do something with them! you've inspired me!

Thank you, Sharron. Yes, we do enjoy it a lot. Marg, I'm glad to have inspired you! We have two more benches we need to replace slats on and refinish. I need to get inspired again too! And I am visiting my family in Tennesse right now. My mom and I were just talking about her bench in the front yard which needs some work. We are going to town today to buy two benches for her back yard. Benches and shelves are two things you just can never have too many of!!!
